What began as the desire to create her own dance hoop after taking a hula-hooping fitness class, soon turned into several requests to make more hoops for classmates and friends. The joy of hooping and making hoops as a hobby eventually became a job leading the hoop class! It was inside those hoops that Amber began to feel the creative flow that inspired her to step outside her comfort zone and take a mandala painting class taught by a childhood friend. That afternoon, painting and reminiscing with her friend, the ember of creativity that began with a hoop, ignited like a wildfire and has consumed Amber’s brain with ideas, patterns, designs and colours. She expresses her creativity across many mediums, including, but not limited to; mandala paintings, painted coasters, beaded bracelets, necklaces, hand-stamped metal jewellery and keepsakes and of course, hula-hoops. Amber says, “I really just enjoy making things that make other people happy!” The story behind the name Rabbit Wheel Studio… “As many of my friends and family know, I’ve collected rabbits for many years so that part of the name was kind of a no-brainer. The wheel reference is two-fold. As I began looking at my work as a whole, everything had a similar circular theme; hoops, mandalas, bracelets, necklaces. Round and round…like the ideas that spin through my brain…like a wheel! And so, as a little business began to grow from these things I created, Rabbit Wheel Studio was born.” Amber currently resides in Santa Fe, NM and is the proud mother of a teenage daughter and three fur-kids. She has degrees in Psychology and Electrical Engineering Technology and has her 200 hr yoga teaching certification as well as her Hoop Love Coach Certification.
