I’m a stay at home mom, homeschooling, RV living mom of four. You read it right, my husband and I live in a fifth wheel with our four children and I homeschool them all. To some, this bit of information might not seem relevant but this is how it all began.
I got into hooping because of my daughter. One day she had a bug and she slept all day long. When she woke (just before bedtime) she was feeling better and very awake. Like most kids who feel better after a long nap, she was not ready for bed at bedtime. To help her wind down a bit we allowed her to watch TV for a while and I cuddled with her. One show we watched was about a kid making a hula hoop. She was hooked and in love, we had to make one. That is what she wanted to do for her daddy-daughter date. He agreed but he was only going to make one hoop.
Yeah, right 1 hoop +4 kids = bad math.
I remember as a child my Grampa pulling into the yard and in the back of his truck he bought an old hula hoop at a farm sale, he was so proud of his purchase that he had gotten for one dollar. It was probably one dollar when it was new lol. I hooped that hoop all over the farmyard upstairs, downstairs, down to the slew, out to the barn, in the corrals and then Dad’s shop. That hoop was one of my most favourite and memorable toys. Now to be able to build a real hula hoop with my kids and feel like a child myself I was very very excited.
I research the project and ordered the hoop supplies. I ordered enough to make for kids hoops into adult hoops. No, my husband is not hoop, I just haven’t grown up yet and I love hooping.
So my new hoping journey continues after I had made five out of our six hula hoops after two weeks of hooping I’d lost an inch off my waist, straightened my functional scoliosis, improved my digestion, my constipation issues were gone, and I had more energy than I’ve had in a long time. Over the span of six months, I lost 11 inches off my waist and dropped 20 pounds.
As the weather got warmer we started playing outside at the beach. Morning walk or stop to watch and some ass to try. I love sharing my passions with others so I handed them my hoop. To the surprise of many, they were actually able to do it within a professional adult sized hoop. So I researched more and learned about the different sizes, weights, and materials. I love making hoops everyone can use. As interest group so did my desire to learn more so I could help others achieve their personal goals. Not only do I build custom hoops but I’m a certified hoop love coach and I Love to teach hoop fitness classes.
