Hi, I am Gloria, proud Mama, certified Hoop Love Coach and the founder of Mama’s Circle.
Like many other Mamas, I have had a really hard time adjusting to motherhood. I struggled with being far away from my family and friends and had a difficult pregnancy which saw me spend three months in hospital before I gave birth. Long story short, I developed postnatal depression and anxiety and was struggling a lot.
On one of those dark days, while sorting through the house, I found a hula hoop that I had bought a few years back. I thought it might help me get rid of that annoying “mum tum” so I jumped in it and got hooked immediately. I hooped every day for the next three months, even when it was just for 10 minutes. To my amazement, I lost 9 kg in those first few months.
But losing weight was not the best thing that came out of my new found love of hooping. I began to notice how much it helped me in my mental recovery as well as getting back into shape.
Hooping has played a big role in me overcoming my mental health struggles and I strongly believe that it can have the same positive and life-changing effects on other mamas who feel like they have lost a part of themselves in the maze of new motherhood.
I founded Mama’s Circle to fulfill my dream of building a thriving community of hula hooping mamas, online and offline. Mama’s Circle is a playground for mamas.
